She Walks in Beauty

Clara Carter doesn't want to debut at all, and now her aunt tells her she will join the debutantes a year early in order to win the season's most eligible bachelor, the heir of the DeVrie fortune. She is thankful that her best friend, Lizzie, is going to debut with her; unfortunately, Lizzie's mother has made it their goal to get the DeVrie heir to marry Lizzie. This is a story of old and new friendships, family relationships, and romance. The main character has to work through many emotions and decisions, but she learns an important truth.

This was such a good book. I enjoyed every bit of it! It is definitely one of my favorites for the year!! The characters were well developed and three-dimensional. The historical setting and information added color and detail to the story. There was a strong Christian message of God's love for us. I would highly recommend this book!
