Scripture Saturday

Jeremiah 29:11 is a frequently quoted and memorized Bible verse, but the promise doesn't end with verse 11!

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, declares the Lordand I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.

 I love the following verses as well...Call upon Him and He will hear, seek Him and He will be found when you seek with ALL your heart.  He promises restoration and deliverance! Seek after Him and all He has for you with everything that is in you, everyday and in every way. He doesn't just give you answers, Jesus is the Answer!!

Sneak Peak Sunday: Land of Silence by Tessa Afshar

Tessa Afshar is an author that I have loved reading in the past. I have read Harvest of Rubies and Harvest of Gold. Harvest of Gold won the Christy Award. Afshar is an amazing author of Biblical fiction.  You can visit her website here.

And here is a little about her newest book Land of Silence:

Before Christ called her daughter...

Before she stole healing by touching the hem of his garment...

Elianna is a young girl crushed by guilt. After her only brother is killed while in her care, Elianna tries to earn forgiveness by working for her fathers' textile trade and caring for her family. When another tragedy places Elianna in sole charge of the business, her talent for design brings enormous success, but never the absolution she longs for. As her world unravels, she breaks off her betrothal to the only man she will ever love. Then illness strikes, isolating Elianna from everyone, stripping everything she has left.

No physician can cure her. No end is in sight. Until she hears whispers of a man whose mere touch can heal. After so many years of suffering and disappointment, is it possible that one man could redeem the wounds of body...and soul?

You can read a sneak peak here through Christian Book Distributors.

Ephesians 2:10: Scripture Saturday

This is my life verse:

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

I love that it tells me who I am: I am His Masterpiece! And it encourages me to live for Him. He has a plan for my life. He has prepared me for good works! He can use even ME for His Kingdom purposes!! He has chosen me to work for Him, and He will use me in amazing ways if I let Him! This verse is true for you too!!

Dear Heavenly Father, do whatever it takes to mold me into the image of your son. Make me Your masterpiece. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Sneak Peak Sunday: Traces of Guilt by Dee Henderson

This book is #1 on the ECPA fiction best sellers list! You can check it out here! I have read many books by Dee Henderson and they never disappoint, always fast-paced page-turners!! Traces of Guilt is published by Baker Books, one of the top Christian fiction publishers.

Here is a quick blurb about Traces of GuiltLieutenant Evie Blackwell is using her vacation to look into two cold cases in Carin County. A deputy, his wife and eleven-year old son, disappeared. And in an unrelated case, a six-year-old girl was abducted from a hotel. Sheriff Gabriel Thane and his brothers Will and Joshua, have lived with these cases for years. I couldn’t write about just one Thane brother when all three have fascinating stories, so I decided to give you a family, centered around Evie and Gabriel, and let you enjoy what happens when Evie comes to Carin County.

There is an excerpt found here through the Baker Publishing Group website. Be sure to check it out. Or go to Dee's own website at deehenderson.com

Psalm 27: Scripture Saturday

This is the scripture that the Lord has given me for this period in my life.  I have it posted on the wall of my closet. I don't read it everyday, but it is always there reminding me...
Whatever it is we are seeking or asking for, big or small, He is all we need! I am learning that even if the answer does not come quickly, Jesus is there. He is all I need. I don't need answers to my requests, I don't need to be afraid of what may or may not happen. I do need to seek Him, follow Him, love Him, and live for Him everyday. If I do that, all the stuff that I am worried about, will fade into the reality of the Eternal Hope that I have in Him. Don't get me wrong, there are things that I will continue to pray for, important things that I am counting on God to take care of; but like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, I choose to say even if I am thrown into a blazing fire, the God I serve is able to deliver me from it, but if He does not, He is still God and He is still Good!

The Lord is my light and my salvation
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
    of whom shall I be afraid?
 When the wicked advance against me
    to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes
    who will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me,

    my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
    even then I will be confident.

One thing I ask from the Lord,

    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.
 For in the day of trouble
    he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
    and set me high upon a rock.
 Then my head will be exalted
    above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
    I will sing and make music to the Lord.
 Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
    be merciful to me and answer me.
 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!
    Your face, Lord, I will seek.

 Do not hide your face from me,
    do not turn your servant away in anger;
    you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
    God my Savior.
 Though my father and mother forsake me,
    the Lord will receive me.
 Teach me your way, Lord;
    lead me in a straight path
    because of my oppressors.
 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
    for false witnesses rise up against me,
    spouting malicious accusations.
 I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.
 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

What is LulaRoe?

LulaRoe was founded by DeAnne Stidham, who named her company after her first three grandchildren, Lucy, Lola, and Monroe. Her story is found at LulaRoe.com.
LulaRoe makes clothing that is comfortable and classic. It is modest and versatile. You can dress it up or down. It is a company intent on empowering women and building confidence. So far the women that I have come into contact with are kind and encouraging. They are enthusiastic about the company, the clothing, and their customers!

I am really looking forward to joining this company! Once I get started, I hope to be able to do fundraiser sales to help different missions and organizations! I will donate all of the profits of the sale to the designated organization, and it seems that Lularoe encourages this and will sometimes donate a percentage to the organization as well!! Isn't that wonderful!
Yay for LulaRoe!
Yay for giving hearts!!
