My THOUGHTS:
I don't think I've read a young adult romance in a long time- probably since I was a young adult myself, and I won't say how old I am. These books were so fun! They just made me smile.
Love & Baseball was written by mother and daughter team, Jaime Jo Wright and Chloe JoAnne! I love that. My daughter and I share a love of books and reading, and my daughter is a writer--so this just makes me happy! It is a sweet high-school romance with fake dating trope. This used a cute, modern day twist adding an AI generated beginning to the relationship. It was a fun read.
The Cinderella plot, by Pepper Basham is also a high school romance, friends to lovers, makeover trope with a strong message about identity- one all readers need reminded of (especially young readers who are in the middle of trying to figure out who they are and the source of their worth.
I will be reading more by both authors (who also write adult fiction), and I definitely recommend you check them out! These are two you can buy for your younger readers as well.
