The Lightkeeper's Ball
The third installment of the Mercy Falls novels is as enjoyable as the first two. The Lightkeeper's Ball centers around Olivia Stewart, who travels to Mercy Falls to find out what really happened to her sister, Eleanor. Eleanor had been in Mercy Falls to marry Harrison Bennett, a marraige arranged by their fathers; however, while she was there, she drowned. People assumed suicide, but Olivia knew Eleanor too well to believe that. On the way to Mercy Falls, Olivia finds that she is in danger as well and is rescued by her number one suspect, Harrison Bennett. She is reluctant to trust him, even after Katie and Will-the lightkeepers and her first friends in the area defend him.
The plot once again includes both a romance and a mystery. It also leads the main character to being secure in who God made her. I enjoyed the historical aspect of the novel--the society opinions, the social classes, etc. In each of these books the heroine must decide to follow her parents wishes for her or to follow her heart--to take the "easy way out" or to trust God with the future. I have completely enjoyed these novels and look forward to reading more by Colleen Coble. I have a number of her other books on my shelf to read, including Anathema, Abomination, the Lonestar series, and the Rock Harbor series. I would definitely recommend her to my friends.
Check out my reviews for The Lightkeeper's Daughter, The Lightkeeper's Bride, and The FIRST Wildcard tour with a sneak preview of The Lightkeeper's Ball!
I received a free review copy from Audra Jennings and the B&B Media Group in exchange for my honest review...My sister and I went out and bought the first two, and I enjoyed them all!!
