Gospel-centered Woman

About The Gospel-Center Woman
Understanding Biblical Womanhood through the Lens of the Gospel
Many Christian books written to women claim to present God's good instructions for their lives. Some expound on the value of marriage and children. Many extol the virtues of the Proverbs 31 wife. A good number teach the value of love, submission, and respect in Christian marriages. Though this book deals with these topics, TheGospel-Centered Woman addresses women from an entirely different perspective. The most important part of the Bible's instructions to women center around the gospel. Jesus' life, death, and resurrection brought about a seismic shift in our understanding of Scripture. After His resurrection, His disciples understood words written thousands of years before with a clarity they never had previously. The good news of Christ illuminates all other Scripture, including instructions to women.

My Thoughts:
I love when the Lord works things together in my life.  For example, many of the messages in this book spoke directly to what I am studying about in my small group.  The Holy Spirit wove various aspects together that could seem unrelated to others.  He is working on my heart and using this book!  I plan to reread it because there so much to learn and apply.  Wendy backs her ideas and advise with scripture and Biblical examples, and the book has space for reflection and notes.  I almost wish I had a hard copy so that I could utilize that and write my thoughts directly in the book.  As it is, I am breaking out my journal to keep track of my personal reflections.  This book has much to offer when delving into Biblical womanhood.  I would reading it and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you on your own study of what The Word has to say about the life God wants you to live!

I did receive my e-copy for free in exchange for this honest review.
