Waiting on Wednesday: August 25

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Here are a couple more coming next month that look great!

Lady in Waiting by Susan Meissner: September 7
While Jane Lindsay waits for her husband to decide if they'll stay married, she finds a 16th-century betrothal ring. Certain that it belonged to Lady Jane Grey, she's drawn to the parallels in their lives. Was Tudor England's 9-day queen another victim of otherpeople's choices? Will Manhattan's Jane realize she's responsible for her own happiness? 352 pages, softcover from Waterbrook.

Petra: City of Stone, Lost City Series #1 by T.L. Higley: September 15
Young widow Cassia arrives in Petra seeking protection with her late husband's estranged family---only to discover the man she married was heir to the throne! When power-hungry Queen Hagiru immediately begins plotting to murder Cassia's son, will Cassia and a small band of believers be able to win the fierce spiritual battle that ensues? 320 pages, softcover from B&H.

  1. Great picks! I love Tudor history and Lady Jane Grey is a fascinating character. I think I'd really like Lady in Waiting. Petra also looks really good. I'd heard about it before but thought it was part of the other series about the Wonders of the World. I'm behind in reading that series. I like T.L. Higley's writing.
