Book Review: BLOOD RANSOM
Blood Ransom is an exciting adventure set in the Republic of Dhambizao. Natalie Sinclair is working to improve the living conditions for the least fortunate in this country. Chad Talcott is a doctor there from the states for the same reason. The two come together for a seemingly impossible mission spurred on by the apparent proof of Ghost Soldiers (men who abduct entire tribes to work in mines as slaves). They travel across the country attempting to discover more about this underground slave trade and stop a political coup.
While this page-turning suspense did seem a little far-fetched at times, I was completely involved in the story and characters. The mystery of who was actually trustworthy kept me guessing until close to the end. The romance was sweet although at times we were told rather than shown the characters' feelings. The characters, overall, were well developed. The plot was creative and original. Blood Ransom is the first in the Mission Hope series, and I look forward to more.
Lisa Harris and her family live in Mozambique where they are involved with discipleship training, and orphan aid. Lisa is the author of The Cozy Crumb Mystery Series, multiple Heartsong titles, and Love Finds you in Revenge, Ohio. She has two books scheduled to be published next year, including book two of the Mission Hope series, Blood Covenant.
