Tuesday Teaser: Six-Liter Club & A Tailor-Made Bride

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  1. Grab your current read
  2. Open to a random page
  3. Share 2 "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  4. Share the title and author as well so that other readers can add the book to their wish lists if they are enticed!
***Be Careful Not to include Spoilers!! (Make sure that your teaser doesn't give too much away so that you do not ruin it for future readers!)

I'm going to post two teasers today!!

From Six-Liter Club by Harry Kraus, page 12:

I've never seen a dead body walk before. Tomorrow is supposed to be the day. From my hiding place in the loquat tree on the edge of the banana grove I'd guess the bad Simba men haven't seen it happen either.

And from A Tailor Made Bride by Karen Witemeyer, page 94:
Those blue eyes of hers spoke of her confusion and pain even though her mouth remained silent. But it was the hint of hope shimmering in their moist depths that penetrated his heart.
